How It Works

Three steps from research to a practical next enquiry.

1

Tell us what you want

Region, species, dates, experience level. One short form — no account needed.

2

We match you

Where a relevant operator is available, we can pass on the enquiry. You must verify the operator, access, paperwork, price and availability directly.

3

Confirm the route

Nothing is booked on this site. Dates, price, land access, insurance and firearms requirements must be confirmed directly with the operator and the relevant official body.

Official checks for a 2026 enquiry

A directory can organise research, but it cannot issue a licence, certificate or land permission.

Species, date and place

Use the NPWS Open Seasons Order. Read the full row: species, period, permitted manner and places can all matter.

Deer licence

NPWS says 2026/27 deer-licence applications are open through the Heritage Licensing Portal. Its page lists separate requirements for first-time and out-of-state applicants.

Firearm certificate

An Garda Síochána administers firearm certificates. Its current page includes a Non-Resident Firearm Certificate route; check your own circumstances directly.

Ground and operator

Ask for the exact ground, the operator's authority to use it, insurance, written terms and cancellation policy. A listing or introduction proves none of these.

Reviewed: 25 July 2026. Re-check official sources before acting.

Browse by Region

Four main Irish hunting regions, each with its own terrain, species mix and outfitter base.

County Wicklow

Compare local listings and ask each operator to confirm current ground, access, species, meeting point and travel time.

County Kerry

Use the regional page as orientation, then verify quarry, location, access and airport logistics with the operator.

County Cork & Munster

Compare the regional page with current operator information and official species and season rules.

County Donegal

Ask about terrain, ground permissions, physical demands and travel arrangements before treating a trip as feasible.

Hunting news and trip planning

Use the news and guide pages to narrow the enquiry before contacting an outfitter.

Hunting news and blogs

Irish hunting blog updates, planning articles and practical routes into seasons, species and visitor paperwork.

Hunting trips

Commercial trip planning for deer stalking and bird hunting, with region, species and paperwork checks before enquiry.

Bird hunting in Ireland

Woodcock, snipe and walked-up wingshooting context for visitors comparing winter game-bird options.

Guides and mentors

A route for paid guided days, accompanied first stalks and local learning when a full holiday package is not the right fit.

Browse by Species

Three deer species, one wingshooting option. Each has its own season, terrain and character.

Sika Deer

Use the species guide for identification and planning context. Check the current NPWS Open Seasons Order and licence requirements before acting.

Red Deer

Use the species guide for context. Red-deer rules include location qualifications, so confirm the current NPWS table rather than relying on a summary.

Fallow Deer

Use the species guide for context and verify current open-season dates, land access and licensing through NPWS.

Woodcock & Snipe

Read the bird-hunting guide, then check the current NPWS bird table, species, place restrictions and wildfowl-sanctuary exclusions.

When Can You Hunt?

Irish deer licences run Aug → Jul. Season windows below, per NPWS regulations.

*The current NPWS table excludes County Kerry for Red deer. Dates and places can change; check the live NPWS Open Seasons Order. A valid Deer Hunting Licence is also required.

Tell us about your hunt

One short form. Where a relevant operator is available, we may pass on the enquiry. This does not confirm a match, response time, price or booking.

We pass your details to one Irish outfitter only. We do not sell your data.

Firearms & the Law

Do not assume an operator can handle or bypass firearms paperwork. An Garda Síochána says a person not ordinarily resident in Ireland may apply for a Non-Resident Firearm Certificate to shoot recreationally in Ireland. Deer hunting is a separate NPWS licensing process. Check both official routes and allow time before travel.
